33rd Annual Santa Cruz Paddlefest – Surfing Results!
The 33rd Annual Santa Cruz Paddlefest did not disappoint! We had plenty of swell for a truly contestable competition in fantastic sunny conditions. This year the paddle surfing community was out in force cheering each other on and overall just having a good time. We all created a loving community atmosphere at this event and the amount of smiles throughout the weekend are a testament to that.
The level of surfing that we saw this year was off the charts! Well, just about at the top of the charts with some incredibly high scores being throw down by the athletes. Every year the level of surfing gets better and better and it is an absolute pleasure to watch. Who knows what next years competition’s surfing will look like and we are looking forward to see every one of you next year!

Saturday Surf Results
I don’t know how we do it, but every year at the Santa Cruz Paddlefest we always score some waves. Today was busy with the race, the Cowells Classic starting up, and of course surfing at Steamer Lane. Check out today’s results here.
You’ll also find tomorrows schedule heats at that link. We are hoping to stick to the schedule and we have a lot of heats to make it through.
Event PSA’s.
If you are surfing at the Steamer Lane site, do not surf past the judges stand and into the Cowells Classic site.
If you are paddling out to your next heat, make sure to gather together outside of the break. Once the horns ring then you are allowed to move into the surfing zone.
There is no launching allowed from the beach around the corner past the lighthouse.
SCPF 10k Presented by Covewater Paddle Surf – Results!

We are so blown away by the support of our community and the amount of camaraderie that we see at this event. Don’t that let you fool you into a false sense of security though because we saw some absolutely blistering fast times on this year’s course. Just about every year we get a faster and faster finish time which is absolutely incredible that these athletes are one-upping themselves. We had dead calm conditions and in the final leg athletes had to choose whether it was going to be faster sprinting in a straight line or trying a less direct line and surfing one in. Which was the right answer? The results show…
We’re happy to grow the sport and we know that it isn’t all about the high end. This year we held a 2k race for the youth and we had a great turnout! Overall we had about 30% of our competitors that were 18 years and younger. We love seeing that number climb and we cant wait to see how they push our sport into new heights!
